ACCOUNTS LEDGER CLERK Salary:Excellent DOE/Ref. No. 238

Our client is an Internationally renowned manufacturer, operating from newly refurbished, air conditioned offices in a convenient Exeter location with ample parking. An exciting opportunity exists to play an important role in our clients Finance Team. You will be responsible, in conjunction with the Accounts Ledger Supervisor, for the maintenance and updating of the accounting ledgers. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Ledger: Working with the accounts ledger supervisor to complete: Preparation and posting of all sales receipts for credit accounts. This may involve processing cheque payments, BACS, cash or credit cards in Sterling, Euro or US Dollars. Posting and allocation of all factory shop receipts. This will involve processing of shop banking, reconciliation of credit card payments and payments in advance of invoice. Purchase Ledger: Working with the accounts ledger supervisor to complete: Processing of the post; stamp and distribute purchase ledger invoices and credit notes. Check and post authorised purchase ledger invoices and credit notes. Cash Book: On a daily basis: • Post all entries from the bank accounts including interest, transfers and charges. • Reconcile each of the bank accounts to the statements. • On a rota basis, taking cash and cheques to the bank. General: Analysis of queries from other members of the accounts department. Other tasks as required. PERSON SPECIFICATION: The succesful applicant will be well motivated and organised with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrable IT skills, numerate and the ability to contribute to the success of the team. Previous ledger experience is preferred but not essential.
